  • Harmonization Process Appendix (September 2009)
    This Appendix documents the process for coordinating issues or concerns regarding international aviation matters (i.e., standards, policies, and procedures). In achieving NextGen, the JPDO will adhere to the processes and procedures as detailed in this appendix.

NextGen Integrated Plan

  • Integrated Plan
    This plan (transmitted to Congress on December 12, 2004) fulfills the Vision 100 requirement, which calls for the JPDO to develop an integrated plan to "ensure that NextGen meets transportation safety, security, mobility, efficiency, and capacity needs beyond those currently included in the FAA's Operational Evolution Plan."

    The 4-D Weather Functional Requirements provide the necessary functional and limited performance NextGen weather requirements for the 4-D Weather Cube to support NextGen operations.

  • NextGen Avionics Roadmap v1.0
    The Avionics Roadmap is intended to communicate to the aviation community how NextGen improvements correlate to aircraft capabilities and functions, and how they evolve over time. This initial roadmap is intended as a starting point to help focus the discussion and debate needed to grow consensus in the aviation community.

    The NextGen Business Case is a JPDO planning document intended to provide a characterization of the aviation environment and the motivation to move to NextGen. It presents an overview of the projected cost of NextGen implementation, and offers an indication of the benefits that are likely to accrue from the successful implementation of the operational concepts that comprise NextGen.

    The NextGen Concept of Operations (ConOps) for NextGen provides an overall, integrated view of NextGen operations in the 2025 timeframe, including key transformations from today’s operations.

  • NextGen Enterprise Architecture v2.0
    The NextGen Enterprise Architecture (EA), commonly referred to as the “blueprint” for NextGen, is a technical document that describes the segments, capabilities, operational activities, and identified relationships to the key target components of NextGen in the year 2025. It is intended to be used as a tool for planning, negotiating and understanding the processes and technical solutions that impact the aviation community.

    Version 1.0 is the first official iteration of the NextGen Integrated Work Plan (IWP). The IWP is a foundational document that describes when NextGen capabilities and potential improvements will be introduced and who will be responsible for them.

"All Hands" Meeting
The All Hands Meeting is a quarterly meeting that is open to the public. It focuses on JPDO progress, as well as information-sharing with the partner departments/agencies and industry.
Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) Conference
At this meeting, the TBO Conference participants discussed the need to identify critical pieces for the development and transition of the national air transportation system to TBO, and the resources required to move forward as well as made recommendations about the next steps.
Airports Working Group Meeting
The Airports Working Group Meeting brought together members of the Public Airports Working Group and Airports Stakeholders.

NextGen Conference on Integrating Weather, Airports, and Air Navigation Services
This event brought together over 200 aviation professionals to discuss the challenges of meeting NextGen with regards to weather and weather integration.
